Long Time Comin'
Now Playing: Foo Fighters - The Pretender

Wanted to update a little bit. It's been a while since I've posted.

My newest release is out now its called Calthraca: The Fox, available on sale now through the end of the month at whiskeycreekpresstorrid.com

It's part of the WCP 5th Anniversary Party!

The cover art is gorgeous as usual, and again, my hat's off to Nancy.

I'm hoping to finish edits on Calthraca: Secrets and The Sea soon, and that'll be released in June.

Not quite finished with Swan yet, but I'm hoping to get it done so I can submit it, maybe get a 2008 release.

Lastly, I'm happy to say work has been going well on Mind's Eye, and I'm hoping to wrap that up for this summer.

Be sure to check out the website for updates and other information. I've been getting some help with the webpage, and it's coming along beautifully. Additionally, I'm part of the WCP 5th anniversary scavanger hunt, so go to WCP and start clicking to win some great prizes!

Bloggity Blog

It's August.

And since it's been four months since I blogged, I thought (okay, I was gently nudged) it might be nice to update. I really am terrible at this, but it's time to get off my backside and give out some info.

Since April, I've had two new books release with WCPT

Calthraca: Adamare and Calthraca: Surrender love, books 2 and 3 in the series.

They've gotten excellent reviews and great feedback from readers and peers alike. You can check out the reviews on my web page: www.camryncutler.net

WIP update: Secrets is done and submitted, hopefully I'll get more information and be able to post it as soon as possible. Swan is nearly done, and I'm hoping to contract that on a partial with WCPT as well.

I've also been contracted for my new novel, Calthraca: The Fox which will be released in March.

I promise I'll get more information out in a more timely manner!

Hopefully sooner than later.

Saturday Morning Blog

Good morning, it's Saturday, and I thought it might be time to put some thoughts on paper (so to speak). And since I haven't written in four months, it was about time.

So, May 1st, Calthraca: Adamare releases, it's the second book in the Calthraca Series, and the pre-release reviews have been great.

I'm incredibly excited about this release, because this book is really my baby. Calthraca: Tiger, was my first release, but this one is the one I wrote first.

I'm still having the hardest time trying to market myself. It's really difficult for me to put out publicity notes, and excerpts and stuff like that. I'm never sure if I'm putting them in the right places, where they're going to be seen or if I'm just wasting my time.

I've always said the easiest part of being a published writer is the actual writing. It's what we do, what we're good at. Only experience tells us if the marketing we've done works.

Now Playing: Peter Gabriel - In Your Eyes

Hey, the Patriots won! Yippee

I've been working most of the day, trying to get Secrets and the Sea finished. I know, I know, I keep promising, but I swear, it's almost done.

On the up side, I've got my cover for Calthraca: The Tiger, and my release date is coming right up too.

I'll post a copy of the cover as soon as I figure out how. (It's gorgeous!) Nancy at Cottage Magic is an incredible cover artist and I tip my hat to her. She's been nothing but gracious in helping me get the best possible cover, and she's achieved it incredibly well.

Aside from that, I spent my Sunday being lazy and working on things. I'm hoping Katie, my editor will be able to get me some more stuff this weekend (hint if you're reading this-- hehe) so I can get back to work.

Anyway, that's all I have for now, remember February first!!!

It's getting closer, my release date for Cathraca: The Tiger is February 1 - Look for it at www.whiskeycreekpresstorrid.com

I've been working with my cover artist and I'm hopeful that I can get a copy of the first cover up soon. Shes got some exciting ideas and I can't wait to see what she's come up with.  Like everyone else, I've been busy with the holidays and also with starting my own business, so writing time has taken a huge hiatus, both creatively and obligation-wise, and for that I'm very sorry. Now that things have begun to normalize, and I'm into a routine, I'll do my best to post more often and keep you all posted as to my activities. I think I may have mentioned though that for a writer my writing habits aren't always as disciplined as they could be.

On December 28th, my first blog will also be posted on Torrid Temptations, so be sure to check that out. http://torridtemptations.blogspot.com/

UPDATES:

Calthraca: Adamare is in edits now for a May 2007 Release, it needs a lot of work, but it's nice continuation of Adama's story, and I'm hopeful that everyone will be looking forward to it as much as I am.

My WIP -

The story I've been calling Katherine Lamb has been retitled "Secrets and the Sea" I'm finishing the last chapters now and I'm hoping to submit it to my publisher within the next month.

"The Swan" is likewise nearly done, but needs some serious polishing before it's ready to submit. I'm hoping to have it done some time this coming spring.

For those of you that don't read my regular webpage (www.camryncutler.net) I've also got a Torrid Teaser entitled "Black Angel" due to be released in September of 07, immediately following my third novel's release, "Surrender Love"

I guess that's all for now, so Happy Yule to everyone, and my sincerest hopes for a Happy New Year to all of my family, friends and readers.

October
Mood:  caffeinated
Now Playing: Gregorian Chants

Good Morning,

It's been nearly 3 months since I've updated and I figured it was about time.

Yes, I'm still alive, I survived the summer, and managed to get a few things done as well.

I've got my first novel Calthraca: The Tiger, entirely finished, edited and ready to go. It's an incredibly accomplished feeling.

I truly hope my readers enjoy it as much as I have. This one is my first, therefore, my baby, and I want it to be well received

I'm still working on the other two works in progress, The Swan and my pirate epic, which I'm re-titling. It was going to be Katherine Lamb, but I've decided on a new name. Details will be forthcoming ASAP.

Since I'm no longer among the ranks of the gainfully employed, I'll have more time to spend on writing and hopefully I'll get my other two books in the can before the end of the year. That could be a false hope though, seeing as I've signed on as an Eppie Judge, and I'm also doing reviews for a group I belong to, so we'll see what happens. It's looking like my evenings are going to be full, hope hubby doesn't mind. (He likes to be my research assistant)

So that's my news for now, I'll try to be better about posting, but until then - play nicely.

Hot, Sticky, Muggy...Sultry
Mood:  a-ok
Now Playing: The Today Show

Good Friday Morning

First off, let me start by saying, it's hot, it's muggy and it's uncomfortable here in sunny Maine.

The tourists are loving it.  Now, if we could only love the tourists...sigh.

It's the same old thing I imagine happens in every touristy area, we're thrilled to see them for the first couple of weeks, then it gets old. Traffic, the inconsiderate drivers, the lost. Rude tourists in stores, restaurants and beaches. Not fun.

But I suppose that's how we northerners appear to our neighbors in the south when we flee the snow...

Anyway, it's supposed to be in the 90's here for the next few days, a heat wave. Let me tell you, we don't have them often up here, but when we do, they're corkah's deah. ( that's 'corkers dear' in Yankee...corker means Doozy)

On the writing front:

I've definitely decided to split Katherine Lamb into two books, which has actually sparked a few more ideas, so that's good. I've been working on that one almost exclusively for more than a month, and I'm looking at maybe another month to finish it, and then another few weeks editing.

Hopefully I'll have it submitted by October. I'm also considering a title change, and I'd welcome any suggestions. Check out the webpage, www.camryncutler.net  I'm adding another excerpt today.

Have a lovely weekend.

Mood:  down
Now Playing: Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd
Shine On You Crazy Diamond ~ Lyrics by Roger Waters

Remember when you were young, you shone like the sun.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Now there's a look in your eyes, like black holes in the sky.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
You were caught on the crossfire of childhood and stardom,
blown on the steel breeze.
Come on you target for faraway laughter,
come on you stranger, you legend, you martyr, and shine!
You reached for the secret too soon, you cried for the moon.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Threatened by shadows at night, and exposed in the light.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Well you wore out your welcome with random precision,
rode on the steel breeze.
Come on you raver, you seer of visions,
come on you painter, you piper, you prisoner, and shine!

Rest well Syd.

YAY Friday
Mood:  party time!
Now Playing: Corey Hart - I wear my sunglasses at night (yeah I'm an 80s geek)
Cool, it's Friday. I feel good today and can't wait to get some stuff done.
I just wanted to stop in and say hello before going off to do the mommy thing.
I'm taking the kids swimming this afternoon, my mom has graciously agreed to come along, which is cool. I don't get to spend as much time with her as I'd like to. Her birthday is this weekend too, which will be fun.
Writingwise, I've got three more pages done in "Lamb" and I'm editing the Calthraca Legacy.
Can't wait to hear from Jan at WCPT.
Ok, that's it for now.
Have an awesome weekend...
